dazed and confused

Remember the first day of school?  Students were excited to be back, to see friends, share stories, and check out their new schedule, books, and teachers.  There was an air of anticipation, a thought that anything was possible and great things were about to happen.

That was August. 

No such luck on the day after spring break.  Mostly I got that stunned look of a deer in headlights, with no real thoughts other than,

"Why does school start so early?"

I was kind of thinking that myself when the alarm went off.  Then I got up, made some coffee, and got started on another great day at the job I love.
